Cloozle is a daily word puzzle that mixes a crossword with a word search. You get a square grid of letters and a list of crossword-style clues. Every answer is hidden in the grid as a connected path of touching letters — swipe through the letters in order to spell the answer.
The basics
Pick a clue. The clue list shows the words still hidden in the grid, with a letter count for each.
Find the letters. Scan the grid for letters that could start the answer. Answers can run in any direction — left, right, up, down, and every diagonal — as long as each next letter touches the previous one.
Swipe through the word. Press the first letter and drag through the connected letters in order, then lift your finger on the last letter. If the letters spell the clue's answer, the word locks in and flashes green.
Clear the board. Find every word to finish the puzzle.
Details that matter
Any valid path counts. If a word can be traced through the grid in more than one way, every way is accepted — words are matched by their letters, not by a fixed path.
Rotate the grid. The rotate button turns the whole board 90 degrees. Rotating is purely visual: your found words stay found, and it can make diagonal words easier to read.
Hints. The hint button reveals a letter of a word you are stuck on. Hints are free but tracked — a cleaner solve earns more stars.
Stars. Each finished puzzle earns a star rating based on how much help you used and how completely you solved it. Your best rating per puzzle is saved.
Bonus words. Some boards hide extra words beyond the clue list. Finding them is optional and pays off in your end-of-puzzle bonus.
Streaks and progression
Solving a puzzle on consecutive days builds a streak, shown as a fire counter next to the clues. A new themed puzzle is available every day. As you solve puzzles you unlock larger grid sizes, each with its own rotation of boards, so there is always a fresh grid waiting.
Getting started
Open Cloozle and a short animated tutorial shows the swipe gesture on a demo board — tap anywhere to start playing. You can replay the tutorial any time from the puzzles menu (🧩 icon), which also tracks your per-size progress and unlocked grids.
Progress is saved automatically in your browser, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off. The game also works offline once it has loaded.
